This rare marquise diamond is a stunning GIA E SI2 .91 carat with a spread that makes it look like a much larger diamond. The E color is remarkable, making it one of the most white and sparkly marquise diamonds I have had.

Legend has it that King Louis XV coined the name marquise for the cut, previously referred to as “navette” or boat shaped, because it was shaped like the lips of the Marquise de Pompadour, his favorite mistress.
