ABOUT Duvenay
Duvenay sells antique and vintage jewelry, and has a bespoke jewelry line inspired by antique pieces held and loved. These pieces are made by hand in Los Angeles where the focus is on rare, untreated gems of natural origin, prioritizing cut and color. For Duvenay, the gold is equally as important and only uses high carat, recycled gold, with a signature finish meant to replicate the patina of many years of wear. The result is both ancient and modern, substantial, yet easy to wear, and intended to be meaningful, talismanic, but above all, beautiful.
ABOUT ALison
Born in Washington, D.C. to American diplomat parents, Alison Barry spent her childhood abroad, most notably in Africa and India. Her personal journey with antique jewelry began with early memories of the Gem Palace in Jaipur, the temples of Southeast Asia, the museums of Europe, and her father’s tales of archaeological digs from his bachelor days living abroad. Her favorite section of any museum has always been ancient jewelry and armor, Egyptian amulets, Byzantine and Roman gold, Greek verdigris bronze helmets, and of course, gems and jewels of all kinds, particularly from the 18th and 19th Centuries.
After completing her degrees in art history and comparative literature, and a year spent living in Italy, she pursued a life in the arts as an actress and producer on stage and on screen. Later, she became a professional genealogist and historian who spent many years in research. As a life long collector of antique jewelry, she began selling in 2011, and never looked back. Her love of mysteries and stories of the past, craftsmanship, and beauty of antique jewelry always leave her awe-inspired and loves meeting others who share this same passion.
